Year 4 enjoyed a fantastic afternoon, working as teams to build dens and making fires to toast marshmallows. They thought the marshmallows were very tasty. A lovely end of term treat!
A big thank you to all the children who braved the dawn chorus and performed at sunrise on Jackson’s Bay this morning! What a wonderful morning!
Year 4 started their topic off with a trip to Cosmeston to learn about pond life and habitats. They also had a go at orienteering which allowed them to practise their mapping skills and direction. It was a lovely warm June day and we all enjoyed the trip!
Year 4 have been working hard with Dylan Adams to create a dance that they will perform at sunrise. They have created dances, play drums and the didgeridoo along with developing poetry and making clay pots, all to get into the spirit of the performance! Today was dress rehearsal and the children performed in front of Barry Island Primary! Tomorrow, we get up at sunrise and perform on the beach!
PC Thomas came into year 4 to talk about the dangers of smoking. We had a really thoughtful discussion with lots of strong opinions.
J 4 had lots of fun making pizza today! They carefully read the recipe to make a tomato sauce and pizza dough. After a short bake in the oven they were ready to eat! Very tasty!
Year 4 children tried lots of activities on their fun day. They had to find a way to make a parachute to protect a chocolate egg from breaking! They created an Easter Poem and had an egg citing obstacle race!
